The New Logo!!!!!

Started life as a 1275gt in '78.

1987 was the start of the project,
-13"x6" compomotive cx wheels with Dunlop rubber and a change to turbo power
-1293 cc, un-intercooled, MG cam, 28cc 33x29 head gave power in the 120 bhp region.

A small article appeared in miniworld no.1., after the change to 8x 13 " supalite wheels with 215x50 x13 tyres which then became a feature. It was not enough power and was too heavy, so changes came in the form of
- coilovers all round,
- rear speedex inspired beam,
- lightening of front subframe,
- rear boot floor was cut out and a fabricated 5 gallon alloy tank mounted beneath the new boot floor.

Engine upgrades were:
- 1330cc,
- forged pistons,
- steel crank,
- rods,
- ulight flywheel/backplate s/c box and drops
- and an intercooler,

Then back on the road it went.

'94 saw the promise of a spectacular race at silverstone "the fastest mini in the world".

Preparations began for the street legal class, on went, alloy bodied koni race coilover shocks, 290mm vented front discs with exF1 monobloc magnesium/titanium calipers. The car was stripped, large steel arches fitted, conversion to semi spaceframe design with fabricated spherical jointed arms, 22point rollcage, stripped interior, internal gearchange, and perspex.

Engine mods added :
- ultimate 36x32 35cc race offset head,
- 1.5 roller rockers,
- race turbo camshaft,
- 4 speed dog box front mounted intercooler, with radiator below.
- weighing in at 603 kg with all steel panels and chrome trim!

It missed the deadline and was converted to a 'fast road ' again, featured in miniworld Oct. 97, and fast car about the same time.

The track was calling, testing at Brunting Thorpe proving grounds with datalogic timing equipment gave starting figures of 15.1 sec 1/4 (standard differential and 3.9 :1 cwp) and 116 mph top speed (8100rpm) - after the speed run another guy with a mini on test said "I thought it would be faster than that, mine did 135 on the way up here". His testing time came registering 98 mph !!

More drag racing was done and best time was recorded at York raceway in '98 13.9 @99mph -metro turbo challenge gearkit 3.9 cwp standard single pin diff, using 1/2/3rd gears boost 14psi in 1/2nd, 22psi in 3rd and 7900rpm.

The engine was sold out of the car when it was converted to a race car for the Hong Kong/Japanese race classes, stripped again fitted with new 2"main tubes cage, all new engine to similar spec but accounting for higher ambient temperatures, 5 speed dog box and LSD, leaving our shores in '99 to start its long postponed racing career.

It is currently being rebuilt after workshop flooding in 2002.
