THESE KITS ARE ENGINEERED TO SUIT YOUR ENGINE , NOT OFF THE SHELF KITS ! , WE NEED TO GET YOUR ENGINE DOWN TO 8.5:1 COMPRESSION , FOR THIS WE HAVE TRIED AND TESTED DECOMPRESSION PLATES ( A STEEL SHIMM AVAILABLE IN DIFFERENT THICKNESSES , USED WITH TWO TURBO TYPE HEAD GASKETS ) OR LARGER BOWL PISTONS AND/OR LARGER CHAMBER CYLINDER HEADS , beware of steel shim thicker gaskets that may not lower your compression ratio enough !
The use of a supercharger will add torque and power to your engine , you should consider lowering the final drive to make the most of these gains , recommended final drive ratios are 3.1, 2.9 and 2.7:1 for hills, b roads and motorways respectively . Avoid close ratio gear kits such as many straight cut sets are, standard helical gearkits have no trouble coping with the supercharged engines power and offer a wider spread of ratios for all conditions.
Water cooled mainfolds : This kit can be added to an existing conversion , injection or carb and as a by product of cooling the charger, power is gained - usually we see around 10 bhp increase on the dyno with this kit - recommended for hotter climates and used in the MPI150 kit and conversion. The supercharger is cooled with its own water supply with 12v pump copper radiator with fan and alloy reservoir. £275

SPI basic supercharger kit
For power figures up to 100bhp the standard ecu and throttle body can be used with a supercharger . This kit suits a standard engine and exhaust manifold , additional power can be gained from a set of hi-lift rockers and free flow lcb and exhaust system(not included), but beyond 100 bhp the standard ecu has trouble coping with demands . This kit will add around 30 bhp to the engine .
parts include :
Modfied supercharger , inlet manifolds , fuel regulator with gauge , Bosch fuel injectors , throttle body, belt, tensioner, and pulley, decompression plate, gaskets, fuel pump, airfilter and fitting instructions .
If you already have a '90bhp' or equivalent kit fitted you will need to add the Emerald ecu to increase control of the injector , and timing, still a DIY fitment assuming you have reasonable knowledge of the mini with an understanding of basic electronics . This kit will add around 35 bhp to what you have . And has the facility to self map while you drive to ensure maxiumum power ,low emissions and good fuel economy . Kit contents: as spi kit plus Pre mapped K6 Emerald ECU and wideband
Superchargers supplied in our kits and conversions are reconditioned units, checked for wear and rebuilt as necessary .
